award for Jazz at the National Festival in Birmingham.

 

 

 

 

Boston Music Centre

Boston Youth Jazz Orchestra was started in 1992 as part of Lincolnshire County Councils Music Service. The group is directed by Lee Hextall and enjoys tremendous support from both parents and the local community with consistently sold out concerts.

The Jazz Orchestra is made up of the more advanced young musicians from the Boston area, performing a vast repertoire ranging from the standard swing big band material through Latin, rock, pop, soul and funk music.

In 2005 BYJO was delighted to win one of Boston Borough Council's outstanding service to the community awards. This year BYJO were delighted to be national finalists in the Music for Youth National Festival. The Jazz Orchestra is available for functions concerts etc by contacting Lee Hextall at the Sam Newsom Music Centre 01205 313227.

Boston Youth Pop Choir were also National Finalists this year giving a spectacular performance in Birmingham Town Hall.
